Our Old Computer Room...circa 2002-2010

  The original Computer Room contained 1 desktop computer, a printer and 3 laptops.

=========================

We now have a new Computer Room for use by all residences of OHCC, plus the computer club members.

It is a friendly place to do tasks on equipment that you might not have at home or you may want to "surf the web", check your "E-Mail" or be trained on various computer applications by our "Instructors".

 Our New Computer Room is another of the many club activities that make membership worthwhile.

Computer Room Administration...

The support and administration of the Computer Room is the responsibility of the Recreation Dept and PCM Technical staff.

Certified "Technicians" from the Computer Club maintain control over the computer room and help users with their needs while monitoring their actions during training, workshop or help sessions.

Certified Technicians will be friendly, but always alert to train and warn users of inappropriate uses of the computers.

Certified Technicians may use the Computer Rooms by showing their identification card to the Front Desk and obtaining a key to the room. Certified Technicians will be responsible for any inappropriate computer or printer usage by themselves or their students.

==============================================

Duties of the Administrators:

Keep Operating Systems current.

Keep administrative programs current by ensuring that all programs are up-to-date.

Email considerations:

No personal email accounts should be set up on any Club Computer. Anyone's email account can be accessed through the use of Webmail located on the home page of the Computer Club Web-site.

Duties of the Technicians.

Instructors should be aware of the "copyright" terms of the club software and indicate the need to the users to be aware of "never revealing" or "storing" their personal PASSWORD on any of the Computer Room's systems.

Warning!! Many of our members have webmail, screennames or other user id's/passwords in order to access applicable internet systems. When on-line, interactive internet systems sometimes ask the user to "SAVE" certain passwords, etc. Never "SAVE" these passwords on the Computer Club's computers.

Computer Room Rules.

Computer Club members are not authorized to copy Computer Club Software for their personal use. The Computer Club will not be held responsible for members copying of "copywrited software" by a member.

Food or drinks are not permitted in the Computer Room except for medical reasons.

Do NOT leave any personal data or files on the Club Computers. Delete all temporary files that you have made or put in the Trash Bin. The Administrators will delete the trash bins periodically.

Check out our schedule on the Calendar page for the Club's "Training, Workshop & Help Sessions". Training and Workshops sessions use a "Sign-Up Sheet for admittance. Sign up at the Front Desk.

Thanks for observing the rules and we hope that you enjoy our computers. Any suggestions are welcome...
