Topic: Keeping Up With GOOGLE

1:00pm Abravanel Hall

Dick Travis presented an interesting overview of GOOGLE's influence in today's computer world. Dick took us through a "virtual day" with his home desktop, laptop and Android smart phone. Google, Microsoft, Apple, Yahoo, Sun and many other high-tech companies are in intense competition with each other for the consumers products from "Search" to "Office Suites" and everything else in between.

An outline of his presentation is here...

A large crowd attended the first General Meeting of the year and also heard from Geraldo Losa, from Ink-Jet-Lab on ways to save money on Ink cartridges.

Many questions were raised from the membership, and some requests for another meeting concerning a comparison of "smart phones" presently on the market.

Gloria Rothenberg supplied the excellent refreshments and Hal McCawley distributed the raffle prizes to 4 lucky members.

Next month's speaker will be Jeff Brown from Intuit Corp. on Turbo-Tax.
