 Worried about privacy? If you don't want your phone number and address to appear in the google phone book,  click on their search box and type in your phone number. You will get your name, address and a map to your address. 

Click on the phone icon to the left of your name and scroll down to: "To have your residential or business phone and address information removed from the Google Phonebook, click here."

Fill in the required information, and in 48 hours they will remove you.

There is a web-site that will translate other languages to English. Click on TRANSLATE, which is located on the Tools line under the search box.If you find a text in French or Spanish, click on this site to read it in English.

Your birthdate is important in history. You can search for events in Automotive history, Civil War, entertainment, Literature, WW2, etc. on this web-site.
 

"Housecall" is a free virus checking software. After you open the site, click on the personal tab, click on "scan your computer now". When you input your e-mail address and country, Housecall will download its engine to your computer. Click next to the drives you want to scan, click in the box to"auto correct", click on "scan", and Housecall will scan your Registry and System files, and all the drives you selected. Do this regularly.

All online state and federal government services are available with one click.

You will find helpful hints for preventative maintenance for all your major appliances on this site.

There is a web-site on which the federal government maintains a list of "carcinogens".  These are things that cause cancer, and you can read and print this list.

To use Google, a popular search engine, you can download a toolbar that gives you immediate access to it.
the Preferences link on the home page lets you customize the language you want to use and the number of search results you want displayed. A SafeSearch filter blocks results with explicit text and/or images.
 

If your mouse is acting erratically, you might have the Bugbear virus. You can get a free online fix on the web.

For genealogy beginners, there is a good free resource site with lists of books, supplies and services, as well as many other links.

There are several web-sites for those who enjoy Del Mar horse-racing.
The National Thoroughbred Racing Association offers news, feature stories, statistics, a tutorial on wagering and a glossary.
Buy tickets online, play the Online Handicapping Challenge,or download racing wallpaper for your computer.
There is an online companion to the thoroughbred racing museum in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
